Dear Brookfield Public Schools Community,

I write to inform you that I have been honored with being appointed as the Dean of the School of Education at Central Connecticut State University. I look forward to joining CCSU’s vibrant community as I assume this new leadership role in higher education to develop the next generation of PreK-12 public school teachers, as well as, school & district leaders.

As I reflect on my incredible journey serving this district for the past 10 years, I am filled with gratitude for the trust you have placed in me throughout my tenure. One of my fondest memories is witnessing the growth of our students and celebrating them during the annual stepping up and commencement ceremonies, where their achievements truly highlighted the impact of our collective efforts.

I want to extend my deepest appreciation to the families for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children. It has been an extraordinary privilege to be part of shaping a strong foundation for their futures. Your unwavering commitment and involvement have played a vital role in creating a thriving and nurturing learning environment.

To the dedicated and passionate administration, faculty, and staff of the Brookfield Public Schools, thank you for your tireless efforts and commitment to excellence. Your professionalism, creativity, and support for our students have made a lasting impact. I am consistently inspired by your resilience and ability to adapt to the ever-changing educational landscape.

"The sole reason for the existence of our profession is the student." This guiding principle has been the central focus of my leadership as your Superintendent. Reflecting on my tenure, I see a district that has evolved into a model of excellence, connectedness, and innovation. Each initiative, whether in programs, curriculum, technology, security, finance, construction or mental health services, has been driven by my steadfast belief that education is a force for transformation. This success has been supported by the leadership of our dedicated Board of Education members, public officials, and taxpayers. While our work is never done, the impact is undeniable.

I will continue to serve as your Superintendent through the end of the school year and look forward to celebrating our students' achievements with you this spring. Please accept my sincerest best wishes as you continue to Create Your Tomorrow.

With sincere appreciation,

Dr. John W. Barile
Superintendent of Schools
